Other notes:
November's highest temperature of 72 degrees beats October's warmest of 70 degrees. This is only the 3rd time since 1871 this has happened. The other years were 1977 and 1987.

November has seen more days of 70 degrees or higher in November than October. This has only happened once before, in 1888.

Notice which city stands out the most? Yes, Lafayette, has been one of the warmest cities this month. And have I not been pointing out that we have been running a good 6 to 10 degrees above average? Well, I just hope we really cool off soon. I have been telling my family that I never remember having a November this warm. Usually I already have the heavier jackets out and yet NOTHING! Ugh..... Lets still keep hope for a COLD December. To me this is the worst start to November ever!

And with that being said above, You won't believe what I'M about to talk about lol. It is almost Winter Weather Preparedness Week! Ha Ha :) Yes, it starts Sunday the 15th and runs through Saturday the 21st. Here is what we will be talking about on each day.Photo: The scene from the front door of NWS Indianapolis during the January 2009 snowstorm
The purpose of the campaign is to remind Indiana citizens of winter’s hazards, how to stay safe, and to educate everyone about preparedness.

The topic for each day will be:

Sunday: Preparedness Week Overview.

Monday: Exposure to Cold and Wind Chill.

Tuesday: Winter Weather Travel Safety.

Wednesday: Outdoor Safety during Winter.

Thursday: Preparedness and Emergency Kits.

Friday: Safety Considerations for Schools.

Saturday: Preparedness Week Summary.

We will have all this and more coming up real soon! Now let's get to the weekend weather outlook below.
Above is a map showing Sunday's weather outlook. This is the next chance at some light pop up showers. Let me point out that this is not a good chance however I cannot totally rule out rain at this time! We will see that cold front move through our area Sunday which is what could kick up a few light showers. Rainfall is not looking over a tenth inch.

Weekend Quick Cast.......................................

Today we will start out with Sunny to partly cloudy skies. As we head into the evening hours / tonight we will see some clouds start to roll into our area. Highs will be in the low 60s once again around 64 degrees. Lows will be mild in the low 40s. Winds between 20 and 25 mph.

Sunday we will see mostly cloudy skies over the WLFI viewing area. As the cold front moves into our viewing area I cannot rule out a few light scattered pop up showers in spots. The good news is I don't look for a wash out. Rainfall is looking around a tenth inch or less. Chance of rain 20%. Highs will be in the upper 50s around 59 degrees. Lows will be in the middle 40s around 45 degrees. Winds light between 10 and 15 mph.

Now I'M going to go ahead and let you all in on a little something! I have been watching this for a while however it has almost two weeks that it can change. (I hope it doesn't) :) I have been looking for a big cool down near Thanksgiving this past week and at this time that is still holding true. Only now I'M going to let you all know that some models are calling for a few scattered show flurries / snow showers over Thanksgiving! It may be a little early to be letting you all in on this however when it comes to any possibility of snow I just cannot keep it to myself lol :) (COME ON COLD SNOWY WEATHER!!) :) Snow Lovers remember! WISHFUL THINKING! :)

I'll check back soon. Have a great weekend Bloggers.....
